
News coming from Pankshin local government area of Plateau State has indicated that a new paramount monarch has emerged for the Ngas Nation of Plateau State 8 years after the demised of the former traditional ruler.
The selection which was done on Friday October 13, 2023, according to report has 10 qualified candidates based on gazette.
This was confirmed by President of the Ngas Nation, Nde Gonen Gofwen in a telephone call in Jos.
He said though he was yet to get details and has not spoken with the selected monarch as at the time of the call, but noted that he heard the selection process was almost concluded as at the time of our interview.
According to report, the District head of Garram, in Kanke local government, Nde Jikka Golit, emerged the new Ngolong Ngas.
The new Ngolong Ngas would serve as Chairman, Pankshin- Kanke joint traditional Council.
It could be recalled that the former Ngolong Ngas, Nde Joshua Dimlong died at the age of 67 on 26th June, 2015 after serving the Ngas Nation as king for approximately 20 years.
