Permanent Secretary, Nasarawa State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Chief Barr. Isaac Danladi had on Monday, shut out some staff of the ministry for coming late to work.
Statement by the Ministry’s image maker, Mr. Eche Amos said upon resuming office at a quarter past eight in the morning, the Permanent Secretary discovered only a handful of the Organisation’s Management Officials and Staff were on ground about one hour after his resumption, prompting him to direct the security personnel of the Ministry to shut the gates.
Addressing the affected Staff, the angry-looking Permanent Secretary said,
“I am sad to say the Civil Service is getting roughened, and we have to sanitize it.
“By the Service rules, all staff are supposed to be in office by eight o’clock in the morning.
“I was here around 8:15 and stayed up to 9am, and only few people were in the office.
“I don’t know whether that has been the practice here. I spoke with some of the Directors that were here earlier, and they have given some explanations.
“It’s most unfortunate that even some Directors were not in the office at the stipulated Civil Service time, so, how can I blame the junior Staff when the senior Staff are not living by example?
“Henceforth, this attitude won’t be tolerated. Any staff who wants to come to work, let them come, and whoever thinks otherwise, let them stay at home, and then we know the further measures to take!”
“We have those who come to collect salaries at the end of every month without coming to work.As long as we are in the system, this won’t be tolerated anymore.
“I have instructed the Director of Administration and Supplies to do the needful to the erring staff.”

Danladi cautioned Management and Staff of the Ministry to be dedicated to duties and uphold the ethics of the Civil Service.
