
Federal Government has commenced distribution of farm inputs to small holder farmers in Nasarawa State under the Value Chain Development Programme 2023 Wet Season Farming.
National Programme Coordinator of Value Chain Development Programme Dr. Fatima Aliyu during the distribution in Lafia the state capital, said the gesture was to enhance sustainable food production in the country.

Dr Fatima Aliyu explained that federal government was committed to the seamless implementation of the project with focus on production, processing and marketing to ensure rice and cassava value chain.
Nasarawa State Programme Coordinator Value Chain Development Programme, Dr. Eunice Kigbu noted that the farmers had been trained in the areas of food and nutrition as well as processing in line with the programme.

She added that over 300 small holder farmers drawn from five local government areas of the state where the programme is being implemented were to benefit from the inputs.
The farm inputs include fertilizers, insecticide, cassava stems and improved rice seeds.
