Rev. Iliya Bako, Reverend in charge of Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA II), Kabayi, Maraba, has advised couple to imbibe the virtue of patience and be submissive to one another to have peaceful home.
Rev. Bako gave this admonition at the Wedding Solemnization of Peninnah Beguwa and Bitrus Sabo in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The Cleric, while delivering his homily, entitled “Christian Marriage, why should we marry as christians”, read from the book of Genesis 2: 21–24 and Ecclesiastes 9:9 respectively.
According to him, it is scriptural for believers to get married if she or he attains marriageable age so that he can live a holy life that is expected of a christian.
He said marriage was ordained by God, hence it was to fulfill His command, fellowship, union, and also to satisfy the desire of each other (the couple).
“I want to advise couple, especially the groom, to live a patient life, because if anything comes and the man doesn’t conduct it patiently, it can cause a havoc in his home.
“And to the bride, she should respect her husband, submit and commit to her husband whatever the situation is, so that her home will be peaceful,” he admonished.

Hon. Augustine Beguwa, the Bride’s father, advised the couple to learn to accommodate each other and resolve their differences amicably without involving a third party.
“I am so overwhelmed because there’s nothing more joyous like giving out your daughter in marriage at a good time, I’m grateful to God to see this day,” he said.
Mr Nicholas Shaibu, who spoke on behalf of the groom’s family, said his son has brought joy to the family by taking a wife of his heart and prayed for peace and success in their new home.
The Groom, Mr Bitrus Sabo, described the day as one of the happiest days in his life, saying the journey that started gradually has finally come to a reality, as it ended well in marriage.
“I am really happy and impressed with the support and show of love from people, as people who came from far and near to celebrate with us today, will be celebrated too,” he said.
Mrs Peninnah Beguwa, Bride, said she was excited and grateful to God for his faithfulness, especially for making the day a reality.
“I feel so happy because it is a day I looked forward to seeing each passing day, and God has done it, to sum it up, is the happiest day of my life and I will live to cherish especially the vow that has been made a while ago,” she said.
