Plateau Speaker Inaugurates 140 Man Re-election Campaign Council 

Tasked them to embark on peaceful campaign

The Speaker of Plateau State House of Assembly and the House of Assembly Candidate for Pengana State Constituency of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Sanda has inaugurated a 140 man Campaign Council for his re-election bid.

While inaugurating the campaign council at LEA Primary School Zabolo, the speaker tasked the party faithfuls to embark on a peaceful campaign, devoid of hatred and hate speech during and after the forthcoming general election.

The Speaker noted that, membership of the campaign council, which cut across the seven wards that made up the constituency are selected based on their proven records of loyalty, hard work and acceptability in their wards.

He noted that, Pengana is the home of APC hence, the need for party faithfuls to collectively work towards returning all candidates of the party in the forthcoming general elections.

Yakubu Sanda added that the People of Pengana have never had it so good in any political dispensation, except during Lalong led rescue administration, where Sons and Daughters of the area were appointed and elected into various positions in his government.

He urged the APC party faithfuls to have a large heart of forgiveness as the party is bigger than the interest of an individual, saying the main focus is to work towards the victory of the party’s candidates at all levels of the elections.

Performing the inauguration on behalf of the APC Chairman Bassa LGA, Secretary of the party Hon Simon Haruna, charged members of the campaign council to see their selection as a call to service and diligently work for the progress and victory of the party.

Director General of the Campaign Council and Deputy Chairman Bassa Local Government Council Hon. Joshua Ishaku, assured Sanda of working hard to ensure that the Speaker and other APC candidates emerge victorious at the polls.

Speaking separately, stakeholders at the event, gave their assurances of complimenting the efforts of the campaign council in ensuring victory at the polls.

They warn against anti– party activities by members, which they noted is not healthy and beneficial to the party’s growth.

 They equally call for fervent prayers for those in authority and for a Peaceful campaign and conduct of the forthcoming general elections.

Amongst the stakeholders that graced the event are Hon. Mrs Sarah Bali, former Chairperson of Bassa Local Government Council, Prof. Demis Mailafiya, Prof Shem Bindas, Secretary General, Nantewe/Botmang Campaign Council, past and present Councilors, Hon Wanga Lamoro, former member House of assembly, Chairmen of Wards, Women and Youths leaders of APC.

Highlight of the inauguration was the presentation of Campaign T-Shirts and P-Cap to the Speaker by a concerned APC group from Rukuba/Irigwe constituency, as their support for the campaign Council.
