
Former President of the Youth wing of Christian Association of Nigeria YOWICAN, Engineer Daniel Kadzai has congratulated the newly elected leaders of the TEKAN bloc of the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN.
The new Leaders were elected at the just concluded 67th General Assembly of the bloc, held at Takum, in Taraba State on Friday.
Rev. Joel Billy, the President of Ekklisiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria EYN was elected President of the bloc and the President of the Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ ERCC, Very Rev. Dave Denji was elected Vice President.
General Secretary of Church of Christ in Nations COCIN, Rev. Associate Professor Benjamin Pokol emerged TEKAN Assistant General Secretary, while Mrs. Catherine John of HEKAN was elected Treasurer.
While congratulating the new leaders, Engr. Kadzai noted that both the President and the vice are humble men of God whom he can attest to because he work with them before now and prayed God to use them mightily in serving Him and humanity in those capacities.
The Fellowship of Churches of Christ in Nigeria (TEKAN) which was founded in 1955, is a federation of sixteen Christian Denominations in Nigeria.
Members of the TEKAN bloc includes, Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN), Christian Reformed Church of Nigeria (CRCN), United Methodist Church Nigeria (UMCN), United Missionary Church of Africa (UMCA).
Others are, Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ (ERCC), Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (EYN), Nongo Krist Ken Sudan hen Tiv (NKST), United Church of Christ in Nigeria (HEKAN), Mambila Baptist Convention of Nigeria (MBCN), Nigerian Reformed Church (NRC), Evangelical Church of Christ in Nigeria (ECCN), Reformed Church of Christ in Nigeria (RCCN) and All Nations Christian Assembly (ANCA).
