Nasarawa Police Command gets New CP

 CP Maiyaki Muhammed Baba has been deployed to serve as Commissioner of Police of Nasarawa State Command.

Statement by the Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel reveals that the new Commissioner has since assumed duty and solicited for support and cooperation of all stakeholders in the State.

CP Maiyaki takes over from AIG Adesina Soyemi who has been promoted and posted to Markudi, Benue State as the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 4.

The Commissioner of Police hails from Bida, Niger State, was born on October 24, 1963 and was appointed into the Nigeria Police Force on March 3, 1990. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in International Studies from the premier, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and a post graduate Diploma in Strategic Studies from University of Calabar. 

CP Maiyaki Muhammed Baba is an investigative giant, Operational tactician and astute administrator who in the course of his career sojourn, has served as Divisional Police officer in Lagos, FCT and Ogun State, Officer in charge of monitoring unit, zone 2 and 5, Lagos and Edo State respectively.

Furthermore, the Commissioner of Police was one time 2i/c, Zonal State Criminal Investigation Department, Zone 6, Calabar.

Upon his promotion to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police, he was posted as Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of State Criminal and Investigation Department, Gusau, Zamfara and Assistant Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations in Anambra State where he served meritoriously.

Similarly, CP Maiyaki Muhammed Baba was Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations in Borno and Katsina State, Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of State Criminal Investigation Department Anambra and Kaduna State, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Finance and Administration, Zone 14, Katsina State and Deputy Commissioner of Police, Finance and Administration, Kebbi State until his promotion to the rank of Commissioner of Police and posted to Nasarawa State.

The Commissioner of Police has undergone some courses of career advancement such as Advance Detective course, 1995, Intermediate Command course and internal security/low intensity conflict course both in 2009; he is a recipient of many awards and his hobbies include: Reading, playing volley ball and travelling.
