
Senator Representing Nasarawa South in Nasarawa State, Tanko Al-Makura, has donated relief materials worth millions of naira to eight communities affected by recent flooding in Awe and Doma local government areas of the State.
At the distribution of the items in Awe, Senator Tanko Almakura called on residents around riverine communities to always take precautionary measures and avoid building houses in flood prone areas.

The Senator represented by his Legislative Assistant Mr Muhammed Atose noted that the gesture was to provide succour to victims of the disaster and make them feel sense of belonging.
Receiving the materials which were made up of food and non food items, the Emir of Awe, Alhaji Isa Abubakar Umar explained that the flooding ravaged four communities in the local government area, forcing residents to take shelters in public buildings.

Alhaji Isa Abubakar while commending the senator for the gesture appealed to State and Federal Governments to come to the aid of the flood victims.
