Berom Youth Group Demands Justice as Gunmen Kill 7 in Plateau State Attack 

The Berom Youth Moulders-Association (BYM) has called for immediate action from the Plateau State Government, Federal Government, and security agencies following the killing of seven youths by gunmen at a mining site in Kuru District, Plateau State late Wednesday.

In a statement on Thursday in Jos, BYM National Publicity Secretary Rwang Tengwong condemned the “heinous and barbaric killing” of the youths, allegedly by Fulani terrorist elements, and demanded the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators and their sponsors.

The victims, aged 15-28, were:

– Dung Gyang, 19

– Weng Dung, 26

– Francis Paul, 23

– Samuel Peter, 22

– Dung Simon, 28

– Pam Dung, 23

– Francis Markus, 15

BYM also highlighted another attack in Gyel District on January 20, 2026, which killed two people, expressing concern over the escalating insecurity in Berom land.

The group extended condolences to the families and urged authorities to reinforce security in vulnerable areas.
