A Political Support Group under the umbrella of the Tiv Renewed Hope Grassroots Mobilisation Movement on Tuesday sought a partnership with the All Progressives Congress (APC) to position the party for a decisive victory in the 2027 general elections in Nasarawa State.
Mr Solomon Chunku, Coordinator of the group, stated this while paying a courtesy call on the State APC Chairman, Dr Aliyu Bello, at the Party Secretariat in Lafia.
He noted that as a dedicated body of believers in the vision of a greater Nasarawa State, the group was ready to seek stronger collaboration with the APC that would lead to strategic victory in the 2027 general elections.
“I am proud to formally introduce to you the “Tiv Renewed Hope Grassroot Mobilization Movement” we have earned the sacred trust of the Tiv people across the 13 Local Government Areas of Nasarawa state.
“Today, our people look to this movement for political direction. We have become the heartbeat of grassroots mobilization, ensuring that the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of President Bola Tinubu is not just a slogan, but a reality felt in every Tiv household,” he said.c
He commended the APC’s inclusive leadership style that unites the party members in the state.
Chunku, while stating that the group structures across the 13 Local Government Areas, said it has dispatched its teams to rural areas to mobilise people for the ongoing party e-registration.
“You have proven that leadership is not about heightening walls, but about building bridges. Under your watch, the APC in Nasarawa State has become a big umbrella that provides shade for all, regardless of ethnic or social leaning,” he said.
“We believe that numbers are the currency of politics which we have, and we want to ensure the Tiv vote is fully accounted for within the party database.
“We are committed to this task, but
To carry out this exercise effectively and to maintain our momentum, we solicit the support of the party office,” he appealed.
Responding, Dr Aliyu Bello, Nasarawa State APC Chairman, while appreciating the group, promised to incorporate them into the support group of the party.
“As an indigene of Nasarawa state, you have the same right, privilege, like any other person, so, I want to sincerely commend you for this visit, and also acknowledge you for being proactive and steadfast,” he said
Bello, while highlighting the achievements of the APC-led government both at the federal and state levels, charged the group to educate the people at the grassroots to see reasons to vote for the APC in the 2027 general elections.
“Nasarawa is an APC state, with the support we are getting from various groups who were not with us before now, the party is going to win the presidential election at the state level come 2027, there is no doubt about that.
“Nasarawa state is not doing badly in the ongoing party e-registration; however, I urge the party members to ensure they participate in the exercise. I also encourage all the political appointees to mobilise their people for the exercise,” he appealed.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the group presented an award of Excellence to the APC Chairman, Dr Aliyu Bello, in recognition of his role as a leader of peace, unity, and a purveyor of democratic dividends. (NAN)
