DEBRA FRANCIS, with a stage name, SPARKLING DIAMOND has shared with this medium on how she intend to excel in the music industry as she look forward to working with Nigeria artistes and promoters.
This she appreciated her Nigeria promoter and the Director of International Affairs and Music Industry in Nigeria, MR. EZEKIEL GOSAN. She also holds close to her heart ISLAND BREEZE ENTERTAINMENT WITH MARCIA TANIA HOLDER.
The Trinidad and Tobago based artiste, who is a medical orderly attached to Hemodalisis Department at San Fernando General Hospital, is also a certified patient care Assistant, Trained with TTRNA (Trinidad and Tobago Nurses Association), University of the West Indies U. W. I. Certified, (Care of the Elderly).
Speaking in this Interview, the 49 years old mother of 2 sons, SPARKLING DIAMOND shared about her current project, challenges and her future plans for the nearest years.
TALK TO US ABOUT YOUR CURRENT PROJECT.
I am working closely with KING SOLOMON, he has been a pillar to me for the last 25 years. He is like a brother to me. I love him very much I have learn a lot from him and he will be at my side with everything that we do in Nigeria.
The TRINBAGO UNIFIED CALYPSO ASSOCIATION (T.U.C.O )SOUTH LEADERS, STEVE PASCAL & MC MORRIS EDWARDS, have vowed to support Debra Francis a.k.a Sparkling Diamond & Desmond King Solomon Paul in all we do in Nigeria. Leaders to leaders and country to country. We will do awesome things by the grace of God.
I am presently preparing a new music this 2026, I continue to stay grounded with Mr. Gedion Quashie “GQ Maxzimum ELEVATED AUDIO “he has 40 years experience and has produced music worldwide and in Trinidad and Tobago.
We are planning with Artistes as follow: KING SOLOMON, PAE30T (UNITED KINGDOM, DADDY CHINEE THE CROSS OVER KING/CHUTTNEY WINNER IN TRINIDAD. Others are DEL TORO/DEL TORO ENTERTAINMENT and TAFFARI WISDOM
I am also working with Mr. Clayton (Vader) Jackson with wonderful instrumentals, he is a musician, producer, composer and programmer and does work internationally.
At present, KING SOLOMON AND SPARKLING DIAMOND are working on a REGGEA Cove, a tribute for DENNIS BROWN called “LET ME LOVE YOU”.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE MAJOR CHALLENGES IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY?
I have observed overall, many great songs are never heard due to lack of Airplay. You may have a consistent list of Artistes that are already very popular that are being heard most of the time.
In Trinidad we have stations that focus on our local music and culture. To name a few, Wack Radio 90.1Fm owned by Mr. Kenny Phillips, Caribbean PULSE STUDIO/online RADIO station owned by Mr. Mc Morris Edwards.
Gayelle TV owned by Mr. ERROL FABIEN, TV HOST CHRIS MORRIS. GAYELLE CARIBBEAN has a segment every week that’s showcase Artistes and full performance and this gives opportunities to new Artistes.
The other stations mention keep the culture of CALYPSO and other Genre alive in Trinidad and Tobago as well as other parts of the world.
We must find solutions to every challenge together.
WHAT ARE YOUR FUTURE PLANS OR TARGETS IN THE NEAREST FUTURE?
MY full focus is long term connection with Nigeria and bringing more than just music but cultural aspects and new brother and sisters relationship within the 2 countries I am deeply Honoured.

Time management is key, the other most important thing is support.
MY family and my fans have given me full support for the last 8 years when I began this journey as a promoter and started planning events with TREVOR G, Dj kool moodee and King SOLOMON who is also a Director with the Project COSMIC VISIONS YOUR LIFE&BEYOND.
We have stood strong together.
I am presently working at San Fernando General Hospital and my direct managers are Mr.NAZIR MOHAMMED AND GENERAL MANAGER is MISS KATHLEEN DELPISH. They and my work colleagues in the entire hospital have supported me and will continue to do so as I represent Trinidad and Tobago as seen fit in Nigeria. Prayer is most important, guidance from the almighty steers me and directs my pathway. Faithfulness has brought me to a place of joy and contentment.
My Father still plays a crucial part in all i do. The commitment to music makes me balanced.
