
Member representing Akwanga North Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Larry Ven- Bawa, has earmarked N20 million for disbursement to over 670 students of his constituency studying in various institutions of learning in the Country.
This, the Lawmaker said the gesture is to complement Gov. Abdullahi Sule, parents and guardians efforts in the education of their children.
Hon. Ven-Bawa disclosed this while disbursing the money to the students under “Hon Ven-Bawa 3rd Edition of the Annual Value Addition Scholarship and Empowerment Scheme 2026 in Akwanga LGA today.
Hon. Ven-Bawa, who is the Chief Whip of the House said that the gesture was also to add value to the lives of the students and other people of his constituency.
“This is the third edition of this programme under Hon. Ven-Bawa 3rd Edition of the Annual Value Addition Scholarship and Empowerment Scheme.
“This is to complement and support your parents and guardians efforts in your education.
“As His Excellency, Engr. A A Sule has given premium to the education and in every year, education budget is high.
“I want to join your parents and guardians in the fight against illiteracy as education is the bed rock of every society.
“There is no legacy that will be left to a child than educating him or her” he said.
According to him, over 400 undergraduates, that is University students will receive N15, 000 each, over 100 NCE/Diploma students will receive N10,000 each and over 50 post graduate students will receive N20,000 each.
Hon. Ven-Bawa assured of his continued commitment to initiate different policies and programmes that would have direct bearing on the lives of the students and other people of his constituency.
“This programme has come to stay unless I am not in the State House of Assembly.
“I will continue to invest in your education and other projects and I will continue to defend the interest of the people of my constituency positively” he said.
Hon. Ven-Bawa urged the beneficiaries to ensure judicious use of the money for improved standard of education in his constituency.

The lawmaker also urged the students to shun examination malpractice, cultism and other negative tendencies for them to excel in their academic pursuits.
He called on the people of the constituency to continue to support President Bola Tinubu, Gov. Abdullahi Sule and other leaders to succeed .
Hon. Ven-Bawa commended the Executive Chairman of Akwanga LGA, Hon. Safiyanu Isa Andaha for promoting peace and bringing development to the area.
Also speaking, Hon. Safiyanu Isa Andaha, the ALGON Chairman and Chairman, Akwanga Local Government Area and Hon. Kwanta Yakubu, Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, commended Hon. Ven- Bawa for consistently paying the scholarship to the students of his constituency.
They said that the gesture would go a long way in reducing the burden of school fees on parents and guardians as well as improve on the standard of education in his Constituency.
They have passed vote of confidence on the leadership of Hon Ven- Bawa.
They also called on Gov. Sule to answer people’s calls for him to run for Senatorial seat of Nassarawa North in 2027.
On their parts, Dr. John Mamman, Commissioner for Education, , represented by Mr. Aruwa Iko Agba, Executive Secretary, Nasarawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Usman Iskilu Saleh, Dr. Yahaya Ubam, Executive Secretary, Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency (‘NASHIA) represented by Dr Simon Istifanus Eric, Prof. Sada’ atu Hassan Liman, Vice Chancellor, NSUK represented by Prof. Usman Gbari, Hon. Abbas Liman, APC Chairman, Akwanga LGA, Mr Ezekiel Pigwo Jonathan, Chairman, National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) among others commended Hon. Ven- Bawa for having the interest of the students and his people at his heart.
They called on the students and other people of the constituency to support him to succeed beyond 2027.
Responding, Aishatu Zubairu and Usman Abdullahi Mustapha, beneficiaries, who spoke on behalf of others appreciated Hon Ven- Bawa for the gesture and prayed God to bless him abundantly.
They assured him of their support to succeed beyond 2027.
It would be reported that the the beneficiaries cut across the six electoral wards of the constituency, Andaha, Agyaga, Anchor, Nunku, Ningha’an and Ningo-Bohar.
