2023: I’m confident of ADC’s Victory in Plateau State – Gofwen

A candidate for the Plateau State House of Assembly under the umbrella of Africa Democratic Congress ADC, Rotshak Gobabji Gofwen has expressed confidence that his party will win some positions in the next year general election in Plateau State.

Rotshak who is popularly known as RGG, said this recently while speaking with Daily News Breakers in Jos, the Plateau State Capital, on his candidature and chances of winning the election to represent the entire people of Kanke State Constituency come 2023.

He said though the election next year is going to be about candidate and not party as some parties are clamoring top to bottom, meaning from Presidency to state Legislators. But according to RGG, the electorates are now looking for personalities that can ensure good governance to vote for in any political party.

“I can assure you that we are going to secure some positions in Plateau State, I cannot say all, but I’m optimistic that we will secure some positions by the grace of God, starting from Kanke State Constituency seat.”

Rotshak noted that though before now  his party ADC was not popular in his constituency, but his coming to the party has made it popular and is becoming a household name across the 18 electoral wards of the Constituency.

“ADC is new to the people of Kanke, but the candidate is not new, because the RGG of yesterday is the same RGG of today in the ADC. Our logo is handshake, so we are going to make that known to the people especially at the grassroot” he said.

According to him, the local government and 18 wards Excos of the party with his 18 campaign coordinators are walking round the clock to create more awareness on the party, since ballot papers are made up with political parties logos and not candidates.

On why he want to represent the Constituency, Rotshak noted that he was born and brought up in Kanke, so he knew what the constituency is lacking, saying, he is going to defend the interest of his people and make laws that will ensure peace and bring about the needed development to the constituency and the entire state.

He added that he is also going to lobby for job opportunities for the teaming youths and initiate youth and women empowerment programs that will make them self reliant.

“I will also try my possible best to solve the insecurity we are battling with on the Plateau; that is the number one and paramount thing I’m having in mind, I’m trying to see how if God give me the opportunity to represent the people, we will cooperate with whoever become the Governor to tackle the insecurity we are having in the state” he emphasized.

He called on electorates in the state to go for credibility and vote for candidate, not party as that is the only sure way to have a greater Plateau and Nigeria the people are yearning for.

It would be recalled that Rotshak Gobabji Gofwen who contested the House of Assembly under the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, withdrew from the party and join the African Democratic Congress ADC to pursue his desire to represent the people of his Constituency come 2023.
