In a heartfelt celebration of humanitarian service, Hon. Dr. Joseph Haruna Kigbu, widely known as “Likitan Talakawa” (Doctor for the Poor), was presented with a prestigious Award of Excellence in recognition of his consistent healthcare services to the underprivileged.
The award was presented by the National Association of Nigerian Student Nurses and Midwives during their 2025 Nursing, Cultural and Fundraising Week, held in Lafia, Nasarawa state. Dr. Kigbu, who was unable to attend the event in person, was ably represented by his Senior Aide, Hon. Musa Magaji made Cash donation to the students Union for the roofing of its canteen.
In his remarks, a grateful Hon. Dr. Kigbu expressed his deep appreciation for the award from such a vital group of healthcare workers.
The award specifically recognized his enduring commitment to providing free medical care to underserved communities, a mission he has championed for years.
