
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) LT. -Gen. Olufemi Oluyede has announced the relocation of the Nigerian Army Special Forces Training School from Buni Yadi in Yobe State to Doma Local Government Area (LGA) of Nasarawa State.
The COAS stated this during the foundation laying ceremony and inauguration of some projects executed by the Headquarters of Army 4 Special Forces, Doma, Nasarawa State.
The Chief of Army Staff had also inaugurated the Headquarters of 4 Special Forces Command complex and Special Forces Officers’ Mess.
He said, “The relocation of the school was aimed at providing a much more ideal environment for the training of the Special Forces in the requisite skills and competencies needed for the peculiar nature of their missions.
He said that when the school is finally commissioned, it will become a beacon of excellence and professionalism, inspiring generations of Special Forces to excel as the elite and unconquerable force of the Nigerian Army.
“Since I assumed office, it has been my resolve to provide our Special Forces with the highest quality training to enable them to compete favourably with Special Forces anywhere in the world.
“It is envisioned that the training that will be provided here will guarantee this, while also preparing our warriors for today’s dynamic and evolving threat landscape,” he added.
Oluyede noted that they were not at the Headquarters of the special forces just to lay foundations, but also to lay the groundwork for a legacy of excellence, bravery, and sacrifice.
“We are investing in the future of our Special Forces and by extension, the security and prosperity of our nation,” he stressed.
He explained that the entire construction process of the school must be meticulously carried out in line with global best practices.
“To our elite Special Forces, my indomitable warriors operating all over the country, remember that you are the unconquerable and thus nothing should stand in your path to victory.
“Nothing should deter you from doing your duty, and nothing should shake your will to fight, and the only time you take a rest is when the job is done,” he added.

The COAS promised to provide all that is needed in terms of training and equipment for the soldiers to achieve victory, as they owe it to Nigerians to be victorious in all their engagements.
The Chief of Army Staff appreciated President Bola Tinubu and Fov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State for their strategic guidance and unwavering support to the fight against criminality.
On his part, Maj.-Gen Hilary Nzan, Commander of the Army 4 Special Forces Doma, expressed gratitude to the COAS for his foresight and vision to mobilise and motivate the Army for victory against adversaries threatening the peace of the nation.
The Commander said that the foundation laying was a milestone in the history of the special forces and would help toward developing the capacity of the personnel for professional efficiency.
Nzan further said that the inauguration of the Headquarters of 4 Special Forces Command complex and Special Forces Officers’ Mess by the leader of the Army would help the nascent command in no small major to defeat criminals in the country.
“The school will enhance training, boost morale and create an enabling working environment for the forces for optimal performance,
“As the direct beneficiaries of the school, we have taken ownership and will use it responsibly with dedication to achieve the desired results,” Nzan added. (NAN)
