You have no reasons not to carry out capital projects- Nasarawa Assembly tells LG Chairmen. 

“… as it inspects projects in Keffi LG, hails the Chairman for taking steps to address challenges of social amenities, erosions in the area…” 

Nasarawa State House of Assembly has praised the Executive Chairman of Keffi Local Government Area, Dr. Idris Damagani for putting smile in the faces of his people by embarking on projects that addressed their long time challenges.

This, the House said with what they LG Chairmen are receiving, they have no reason not to carry out capital projects as well as provide the much needed dividends of democracy to their people. 

Chairman, House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Hon. Musa Abubakar Ibrahim stated this today Friday when he led other members of the Committee to Keffi LGA in continuation of their oversight visits to LGAs in the State. 

“This is one of the advantage of having a youth in the helm of affairs, he always think of how to live an indelible mark of excellent that for long he will be remembered for. 

“The projects you have executed in less than one year in office has further approved that youths in leadership are the best, because it is the future that is in their mind, how to impact on peoples life. 

“On behalf of the committee, I commend your effort and want to urge you to sustain the good work of providing dividend of democracy to the door steps of your people. 

“Carry members of your cabinet and critical stakeholders along in decision making” He added. 

Chairman Keffi Local Government Area, Dr. Idris Ahmad Damagani appreciated Governor Abdullahi Sule and the State Assembly for standing firm in ensuring that third tier of government is enjoying full financial autonomy.

Damagani said, the financial autonomy approved and the Four Hundred and Sixty Million Naira appropriated for the Local Government Councils provided opportunity for the administration to carry out projects across all the ten electoral wards in Keffi LGA.

He assured the committee of his administration’s readiness to collaborate with the state executive and the legislature for the overall development at the grassroot level.

He said within the few months of his tenure he has constructed roads worth Two Hundred and Twenty Seven Million Naira, Ten motorize boreholes, one in each of the ten electoral wards at the rate of Sixty Two Million Naira, extension of store building in Nasarawa State University, Keffi at the cost of fifteen million naira, purchased of patrol vehicle for police to combat crime.

Also in the list of achievements, the Chairman said he purchased and cultivated hundreds of hectres of land where different varieties of crops were planted, purchased and distributions of insecticide, sprayer and seedlings for farmers among others. 

It was reported that the Committee Members were taking round in a long trekking to projects sites to see and assess things for themselves.
