Coalition urges Maikaya to contest for Nasarawa State Governorship election

Nasarawa Youths Coalition has called on Dr Muhammed Musa-Maikaya to contest for the governorship seat of the state in the 2027 elections.

The group who made the at a press conference on Monday in Lafia,
the call became imperative because of his exceptional leadership qualities, commitment to youth empowerment, and governance.

Speaking at the event, Mr Yahaya David, Chairman of the coalition said the youths want Musa-Maikaya because of his consistency and unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes despite his unsuccessful attempt in the previous election.

He explained that Musa-Maikaya has given scholarships to indigent students across the 13 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state and palliative to the poor affected by different disasters.

He added that Musa-Maikaya had also empowered thousands of women and youths through his foundation from his resources and believed that if given the opportunity as a governor, he would do more.

“He has proven that leadership is not about title, but about heart, vision, and action.

“He has become a beacon of hope in times of despair, a silent benefactor in need, and a reliable friend to those seeking a better future.

“His deep connection with the grassroots, humility, and warm appeal had endeared him to the hearts of many, particularly women and youths.

“We see in him a leader who listens, understands our struggles,s, and genuinely seeks our upliftment, hence the reason for the call on you to contest,” he added.

He, therefore, expressed optimism that with the proven record of selfless service, strategic insight, industry, and inclusive mindset, Musa-Maikaya would lead the state into a new era of unity, development, and prosperity.

Also, representatives of youth groups from the 13 LGAs of the state spoke on why they had decided to call on Musa-Maikaya to contest for the governorship of the state contrary to the normal tradition.

Tenimu Black, Hawa Isa, and John Uhuman, from Toto, Wamba, and Awe LGAs, who spoke on behalf of others, said that Musa-Maikaya had impacted the lives of the common people across the state.

They said that he was helping people without recourse to their ethnic, political, and religious affiliations.

They also commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his developmental strides in all sectors and urged Musa-Maikaya to contest under the All Progressives Congress in the next election.

The event had in attendance youth groups from the 13 Local Government Areas of the state. (NAN).
