The people of Kokona West constituency of the Speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau through the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Agwada Branch, has called on him to contest for the seat of Keffi/ Karu/Kokona Federal constituency come 2027.
Hon. Bala Akuki, the Chairman of the Association made the call when he led his members on a New Year homage to the Speaker in his residence in Garaku today.
Akuki, said their call was based on the Speaker’s leadership qualities and achievements in Kokona West constituency and the State at large.
He said that the Speaker has done a lot for the people of Kokona West, hence the need on him to go to the National Assembly in order to bring more federal government presence to the constituency.
” Our desire and prayer is that come next election , you shall represent us at the National level as you have distinguished yourself as a tested and trusted leader for our local government and Nasarawa State in general.
” We are equally not ignorant of your tireless effort in uniting and providing job opportunities to the youth of Kokona Local Government Area irrespective of their tribal and religious differences” he said.
The youths also commended the Speaker for his unbiased representation stressing that the Speaker has make it very difficult for people to know if members of the state legislature are from one political party or not as he has unit and stabilizes the house.
” Your relationship and interaction with the Executive and judicial arms of Government has placed Nasarawa State at an advantage over and above many states of the federation.
” As Nasarawa State continues to enjoy peaceful co-existence between the three arms of Government thereby giving room for speedy decision making and progress within the state” he said.
Besides, the NYCN conferred award of Excellence on the Speaker over his developmental strides in Agwada Development Area, Kokona LGA and the State at large.
” This award does not in any way express the height of gratitude to you but a commendation for a personality that has distinguished himself over and above his contemporaries, most especially within his constituency.
” We want to appreciate the very esteemed Speaker, our very own, the pride of Agada, the light that cannot be quenched in Kokona LGA and the entire Nasarawa State” he said.
On his part, the Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, appreciated the NYCN for the award and assured of his readiness to continued to empower the youths.
He appreciated the youth for the award, saying that it would spur him to do more.
” I want to appreciate you for the support and I appeal to you for continued support to enable me provide more dividends of democracy to you.
” Youths are the back borne for any meaningful development.
” You should not allow yourselves to be used by any person but be agents of unity and peace at all times” he said.
Jatau assured of his continued good and quality representation at the state legislature.
The Speaker urged the youths and other citizens of the state to continue to support Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s administration to succeed.
The Speaker also received various groups and individuals on the New Year visitations to include lawmakers Hon. Hudu A Hudu, Rt. Hon. Abel Yakubu Bala and Hon. Muhammed Garba Isimbabi as well as the management of the State Assembly led by the Acting Clerk Ibrahim Musa among others.
