Gov. Sule’s aide gives palliative to 200 vulnerable persons in Nasarawa

Mr Laminu Ishaq, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Media to Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has given N5,000 as palliative to 200 vulnerable persons in the Zanwa electoral ward of Lafia Local Government Area (NAN).

The SSA who is attached to the office of Silifat Sule, wife of the governor as her media aide, said the gesture was aimed at giving back to his community from the little the Almighty God had blessed him.

He explained that the beneficiaries comprised 100 women, 50 youths, and 50 elderly.

“We carefully selected the very poor and ensured that Persons With Disabilities were included in all categories to alleviate the suffering they are going through as a result of the removal of fuel subsidies.

“I was moved by the economic situation in the country to help the vulnerable and poorest of the poor in my community.

“God has blessed me and being in a little position in government, it is only right to share with those that are not as privileged as myself,” he added.

He further said that each of the beneficiaries was given N5,000 total of N2 million and promised to sustain the support to complement his boss.

He therefore called on the people of the state to continue to pray and support the governor to deliver good governance like he has been doing in the last five years.

In his goodwill message, Ahj. Aliyu Bello, Nasarawa State Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) lauded the SSA for its support to the poor.

The APC Chairman said that it is not easy for an SSA to save up to M2 million from his meager salary and share with the poor.

In his remarks, Dr Emmanuel Akabe, Deputy Gov. of the state represented by Abubakar Zanwa, Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, commended the SSA and urged other aides to emulate him.

He said that Ishaq is a worthy ambassador of the state government and urged the beneficiaries to use the support to improve their lives. (NAN).
