
Tudun Wada Community in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State has expressed concerned at the pace at which the construction of the 6.95KMs Kabong Satellite Market to Tudun Wada, Sabon Gari and Mado road network is lingering.
Chairman of the Community, Mr. Yohanna Kutwal expressed this concern in his acceptance speech during the inauguration of new officials of Tudun Wada Community Development Association which was held at the Federal Secretariat Conference Hall in Jos on Saturday.
The Chairman appealed to Governor Caleb Mutfwang whom he described as a listening governor, to evaluate the abandoned work and see to it’s completion for the benefit of the community.
Mr. Kutwal was worried that the road construction which was awarded by the immediate past administration of Gov. Simon Lalong since 2017, is yet to be completed and commissioned.
“If this project is truly for the benefit of our community, we would urge that it be completed as soon as possible. We shall serve as vanguards for any project to be sited in our community henceforth.” He said.

The Chairman pledged the leadership resolves to complement government’s efforts in the supervision of the road project as they really want to see the completion of the road to alleviate the hardship being face by people in the community over lack of access road.
Findings revealed that the Kabong Satellite Market to Tudun Wada, Sabon Gari and Mado road network with a total length of 6.95KMs was awarded to Jolex Construction Company Nig. Lt. by the past administration of Gov. Simon Lalong in February, 2017, at the cost of N1.808, 633, 610.
This is one of the projects that the entire people of Tudun Wada Kabong Federal Ward, one of the highly populated wards in Plateau State with an estimated registered voters of 110,000 as at 2023, general election are looking forward to its completion.
Other areas of in the community that needs government, Non-Governmental Organizations and spirited individuals support as mentioned by the new chairman were, Comprehensive Health Center to cater for the secondary health needs of the people, additional Primary and Secondary Schools, Community Hall and a sustainable source of portable water supply.

Earlier, while thanking God for the privilege to serve the community alongside other officials, Mr. Kutwal assured the people of team work among them in collaboration with all stakeholders to foster unity among the diverse ethnic groups and to also fashion out ways of tackling insecurity and other social vices that are inimical to societal growth.
In a paper presentation titled “The power of Community Development Associations in Nigeria: Review of their roles and impacts, the guest speaker, Dr. Tapshak Lwahas said Community Development Associations play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for community members in Nigeria.
He urged the officials to understand the importance of the Association and use it effectively to harness their potentials, create positive change and improve the lives of residents of the community.

Chairman of the occasion who is the member representing Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Daniel Asama, represented by his media aide, Egwe Celestine, congratulated the officials and assured them of continued support to move the community which he is part of, forward.
Chief of Staff to Governor Caleb Mutfwang, Mr. Jerry Satmak, represented by Barr. Erasmus Cishak, the Transition Implementation Chairman of Jos North Local Government, Hon. Samuel Umaru; Jos North West Constituency Liaison Officer, Hon. Danjuma Azi; Mangu South Constituency Liaison Officer, Hon. Bala Fwangje and representative of Commissioner for Land Survey and Town Planning, Barr. Pater Gai who spoke at the inauguration, all pledged both the State’s and local government’s support for the community.
