
Dr Mike Omeri, Former Director-General (DG), National Orientation Agency (NOA) has called on Nigerians, especially the Muslim faithfuls to use the window availed by Sallah to seek Allah’s intervention in the challenges confronting the Nation.
The Ex-NOA boss made the call in a chat with journalists on Wednesday in Lafia, Nasarawa State capital.
Omeri urged Nigerians not to allow the prevailing hardship in the country to affect their collective spirit of love, brotherliness, and peaceful co-existence.
He explained that if Nigerians pray faithfully to God, better days and things shall soon be achieved as nothing is impossible with God.
The former NOA DG, congratulated Muslims on completion of Ramadan fast and said that the 2024 celebration would engender the spirit of oneness and re-dedication to the virtues of love, patriotism and unity for the desired national development.
The chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) noted that 2024 celebration was unique because Christians and Muslims completed their fasting almost the same time.
“We should allow the solemnity of the holy period to influence our thoughts and actions in relating with one another for the better future of the country.
“It is discomforting the amount of blood being shed in this country on daily basis, we must use our various religions to propagate peace and unity of the country especially at this ample opportunity available to us for sobber reflections to asked God for his prompt intervention.
“An intense prayer for our dear country has become very necessary more than ever before for those who believe as our nationhood is in dire need of divine intervention to survive the unimaginable onslaught on our collective psyche,” he added.
Omeri therefore implored the people of Nasarawa State not to despair and miss the essence and meaning of festivity and the divine succour it brings. (NAN).
