Nasarawa: Residents call on Gov Sule to end killings, kidnapping

Gov. Abdullahi Sule

A cross section of residents in  Nasarawa State have called on Gov. Abdullahi Sule to end the senseless killings and kidnapping going on in different parts of the state.

They made the call to newsmen on Sunday in Lafia the state capital.

According to them, instead of the governor to redouble his effort toward tackling insecurity, he is busy inviting National leaders to commission projects that are supposed to be executed by the Local Government Chairmen.

Mrs Fatima Adamu said that the road commissioned by both Kashim Shettima, Vice President and Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) were not up to 8 kilometers.

“To me, if the projects commissioned by the VP and Ganduje is less than 8km, then the governor is rather showing that he has done nothing serious in the areas of infrastructure.

“When governors of other states are commissioning hundreds kilometers of network of roads, our governor is bringing prominent Nigerians to commission a road equivalent of a street,” she added.

She also lamented that the LGA Chairman of Akwanga, hometown of the governor alongside three others were kidnapped recently, the governor brought the National Chairman of APC to commission 1.7 kilometer road in the area instead of taken steps to protect the people.

Also, David Adagazu, a youth leader in Karu said armed robbers recently killed four people in a supermarket in the area and nobody was apprehended up till now.

He lamented that instead of the governor to focus on governance, he is busy in playing politics even when elections were over.

He said that the governor should pay attention to security of lives and property which is the main responsibility of the government.

On the recent defection of Solomon Ewuga, former Minister of State, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, Adagazu described the celebration as needles.

The Youth leader said that he has lost count of the number of times that the former Minister had changed from one political party to the other. (NAN).
