Suspected Boko Haram kills Pastor, 5 others in Yobe

Suspected Boko Haram Insurgents have killed Pastor Luka Levong, a Pastor working with Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) CC Kwari in Geidam local government area of Yobe state and five others.

Some of the church members who evacuated the corpses to Specialist Hospital Geidam told Daily News Breakers, that the attackers invaded the community around 2am on Friday January 5, 2024 and shot the Pastor and his church Treasurer, Mr. Maina Abdullahi.

The Wife of the Pastor and two of their grandsons who came to celebrate Christmas with them narrowly escaped while her husband screamed to death.

One of the eye witness, Aaron Bwala revealed the other victims were also killed in their separate houses one after the other before the arrival of the security men, while many houses including COCIN CC Kwari and vehicles were also set ablaze.

Both the Military and the Nigeria police are yet to comment on the incident as efforts to speak with them proved abortive.

Geidam is located 177 kilometers away from Damaturu the state capital and is about 40 kilometers away from the Nigeria/Niger border. It is also the hometown of the immediate past Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba.

The incident is happening at a time when the COCIN President is holding a seminar for all Pastors in PCC Borno which comprises RCCs Borno, Gamboru, Gwoza Yola and Yobe.
