The Nasarawa State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has disowned the purported Coalition of PDP Youths who had a press conference on Friday in Lafia.
Alh. Muhammed Sani, Nasarawa State Youth Leader of PDP stated this in a statement and made available to newsmen on Friday in Lafia.
According to him, members of the purported group are not known to PDP and are not register members of the party in the state.
He alleged that the press conference by the so-called coalition was orchestrated by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to give wrong impression and win public sympathy.
“We want to make it clear that the PDP in Nasarawa State is fully in support of the tribunal’s verdict that annulled the election of Gov. Abdullahi Sule of APC and announced our candidate, David Ombugadu as the real winner of March 18 election in the state.
“The facts and merits of the case, as ruled by the tribunal, are indisputable, and we maintain our unwavering confidence in the integrity of the tribunal’s decision.
“The PDP would never condemn itself or seek to detract from a ruling that upholds justice and the rule of law.
“PDP is a well organised party, and any official conference or statement would be communicated through proper channels,” the Youth Leader added.
He therefore, called on the public to disregard the claims in the press conference and anything that someone or group would say suggesting that the party was against the judgment of the tribunal.
It could be recalled that the Coalition of PDP Youths had earlier addressed a press conference where they warned stakeholders from both PDP and APC against making inciting statements that is capable of causing religious crisis in the state. (NAN).
