Nasarawa Unions Want Improved Infrastructure in College

Joint Staff Union of College of Agriculture Science and Technology Lafia Nasarawa State has called on the state government to take urgent steps to refurbish facilities in the college to  save it from total infrastructural collapse.

Chairman of the union Dr. Ose Agbo made the call during an extraordinary meeting with the Governing Council of the college in Lafia the state capital.

The meeting which is the maiden edition since the inauguration of the Governing Council of College of Agriculture Science and Technology Lafia brought together leaders of the three unions in the college to identify ways of addressing some of the major challenges facing the school.

Chairman Joint Staff Union of College of Agriculture Science and Technology Lafia Dr. Ose Agbo said the recent upgrade of the college to a polytechnic status had called for more attention to infrastructure and man power development to achieve the desired results.

Dr Agbo also stressed the need for the state government to address the lingering issue of stagnation of workers in the college who had been on the same grade levels for years without promotion.

Chairman of the Governing Council of College of Agriculture Science and Technology Lafia Mr Danladi Abimiku said Governor Abdullahi Sule Administration had set up a result based template with the aim of improving the standard of education in the state.

Mr Abimuku however called on the staff of the college to be dedicated and remain committed to their duties for the common good of the state.

Acting Rector of the College Dr. Peter Aboki commended the state government for the high level of attention given to the school especially the recent inauguration of the Governing Council.
