“These awards which were presented at a brief ceremony in London on Wednesday August 23, 2023 did not come to our entire team as a surprise going by their various track records of outstanding achievements.

“It is our conviction that all of you as recipients deserve these awards in view of your individual track record and pragmatic feats in journalism practice. It is also on record that you have all also worked tirelessly during the two-week International Professional Executive Master class at the London Centre for Training and Development (LCTD) IN Lewisham High Street, London.
“Consequently, this team rejoices with all the awardees and are equally happy to be associated with this great feat achieved by our President alongside other big names in the pen profession.
“While we thank the NUJ President for dedicating the Award to Nigerian journalists, it is our prayers that the knowledge acquired in the course of the training would be strategically stepped-down the ladder to further move the Union to greater heights and for the betterment of all NUJ members.
“As we look forward to the victorious emergence of the New Vision, New Direction Team come September 8, 2023, be assured of our usual support Mr. President.”
