
Plateau State Legislators have screened and confirmed all Nineteen Commissioner nominees submitted to the Assembly by Governor Caleb Mutfwang of the state.
The nominees were screened and confirmed during Tuesday plenary at the floor of the House of Assembly, CBN road Jos, the Plateau State capital.
Out of the Nineteen Commissioner nominees, Four were women and Jos North, Pankshin and Qua’an Pan local government areas got two Commissioners each.
All the nominees were called one after the other for the screening as the members go through their credentials and asked them questions based on their qualification and areas of specialization.
Some of the commissioner nominees assured them of their preparedness and commitment to give in their best for the growth of the state during questioning by members of the Assembly.
After the successful screening, Speaker of the House, Moses Sule put the confirmation into a voice vote after mentioning their names and the members unanimously confirmed the appointment of the nominees as Commissioners.
There after, the Speaker directed the Clerk of the Assembly, Mr. Ponven Wuyep to communicate the governor on the successful confirmation of the Commissioners as requested.
The Nineteen Commissioner that were screened and confirmed were, Peter Gwom -Barkin Ladi, Hon. Sule Musa Haruna -Bassa, Hon. Adams Bulus Leshak Bokkos, Musa Ibrahim Ashoms -Jos East, Peter Nyam Gai -Jos North, Jatau Davou Gyang Jos South, Bugama Samson Ishaku -Kanke, Hon. Ephraim Usman -Kanam, Joshua Laven Ubandoma -Langtang North and Assoc. Prof. Obed Gossele Nanjul -Langtang South
Others were Mrs. Caroline Panglang -Mikang, Mrs. Dongkum Grace Shwarta -Pankshin, Mr. Chrysanthus Dawam -Qua’an Pan, Kachollom Pyam Gang -Riyom, Noel Naanniap Nkup Shendam, Nyalum Mohammed Salihu Wase, Bashir Lawandi Datti -Jos North, Dr. Cletus Shurkuk -Pankshin and Jamila Tukur -Qua’an Pan.
With the successful conduct of the screening and confirmation of the 19 commissioner nominees, the state looks forth to portfolios to be assign to them and inauguration to hit the ground running.
