
National Directorate of Employment NDE says it has developed a template aimed at sustainable creation of jobs in agriculture, Entrepreneurship and skills development as part of steps towards addressing unemployment in the country.
Director General of NDE Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo stated this during the disbursement of empowerment equipment and tools for selected youths in Lafia the Nasarawa State capital.
The disbursement of the equipment and tools followed a three months intensive training of the beneficiaries under the Environmental Beautification Training Scheme, Special Works Department in the National Directorate of Employment NDE.
The Director General of the National Directorate of Employment NDE, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo stated that the scheme had continued to explore wide range of sustainable ways of creating jobs especially in the agricultural sector to respond to prevailing economic realities of the country.
The Director General represented by the Nasarawa State Coordinator of NDE Mr Christopher Bamsida noted that the equipment were basic working and tools to enable the beneficiaries to establish their own businesses having acquired various skills which include hard and soft landscaping.

Director Special Public Works Department in the NDE Mrs Roseline Olaomi represented by Mrs Beatrice Ordu while calling for more funding for the Directorate to perform optimally stated that there would be close monitoring of the beneficiaries to ensure proper utilization of the tools.
Some the beneficiaries Mrs Nongu Christiana and Mr. Abdullahi Kana commended the federal government for the initiative aimed at providing job opportunities for the teeming youths to be self reliant.
Over thirty youths benefitted from the equipment including water pumps and power generators as well as cash ranging from 42, 000 to 130 000 Naira as part of the start up package.
