Army Committed to Civilian – Military Relations

The Nigerian Army says it is committed to strengthening civil-military relations across the country for sustainable peace and national security.

Commander 4 Special Forces Command Doma in Nasarawa State, Major General Oluyinka Soyele stated this yesterday during a public speaking engagement with secondary school students in Lafia as  part of activities to mark the 2023 Nigerian Army Day Celebration.

The Public Speaking Engagement was organized by troops of the 4 Special Forces Command of the Nigerian Army  to provide opportunities for the secondary school students to have contacts with the soldiers, and to appreciate their roles in the protection of the nation’s territorial integrity.

Commander, 4 Special Forces Command Doma, Major General Oluyinka Soyele said given the critical roles of  the civilian public in maintaining law and order , there was need to focus on imbibing the virtues of integrity, patriotism and honesty in the young ones.

The Commander represented by Colonel Yusuf Isah noted that the Nigerian Army would continue to build trust and confidence in its immediate communities to enhance their duties of securing the society.

In an interview, some of the students Zilli Joy and Eze Udoka said the engagement had exposed them to the rich history of the  Nigerian Army and their role over the years.

The event featured paper presentations on patriotism, hard work, and dangers of drug abuse as well as presentation of a documentary highlighting some of the major heroic achievements of the Nigerian Army.
