
Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested another escapee from Kuje Correctional Centre in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja following attack on the facility by insurgents in August 2022.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel while briefing newsmen in Lafia, said the escapee Mr. Haruna Sunday was arrested in Karu Local Government Area of the state for alleged involvement in criminal activities.
According to the Police Spokesperson, the arrest of the suspect followed complaints from some residents of the area of persistent cases of forceful snatching of telephone handsets and invasion on homes allegedly by the suspect.

The suspect Mr. Haruna Sunday who confessed to the crime said he escaped from the Kuje Correctional Centre during the jailbreak in 2022 and fled to Kaduna state but later moved to Masaka in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
Seven other suspects were paraded by the police for alleged kidnapping, armed robbery and dealing in Indian hemp.
Items recovered from the suspects include 900,000 Naira cash, arms and ammunition as well as bags of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
The arrest of Mr. Haruna Sunday brings to three the number of Kuje jailbreak escapees Nasarawa State Police has arrested so far.
