The North Central Development Commission (NCDC) has condoled with the Emir of Lafia, Retired Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad, over the death of his stepbrother, Alhaji Ahmad Bage.
The condolence is contained in a statement signed by Dr Makut Simon-Macham, the commission’s Head of Media and Corporate Communications, and made available to newsmen on Saturday in Lafia.
According to the statement, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the commission, Dr Cyril Tsenyil, expressed profound sadness over the passing of Alhaji Ahmad Bage.
Tsenyil, on behalf of the Governing Board, management and staff of the commission, extended heartfelt condolences to the Emir of Lafia, the royal family, the Lafia Emirate Council and the people of the emirate over the painful loss.
He described the death of Bage as a great loss, noting that the passing of a loved one was always painful, particularly for a family that had continued to play a pivotal role in promoting peace, unity and the rich cultural heritage of Nasarawa State and the North Central region.
The NCDC managing director also conveyed the commission’s sympathy to the Nasarawa State Government and its people over the bereavement.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the deceased Aljannatul Firdaus and give the Emir, the bereaved family and all those affected the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Tsenyil reaffirmed the commission’s solidarity with the Emir of Lafia and the people of Nasarawa State during the period of mourning.
He expressed hope that the cherished memories of the deceased would continue to serve as a source of comfort to his family. (NAN)
