By Francis Nansak, Lafia

The Emir of Keffi, Dr. Shehu Chindo-Yamusa III, and Hon. Baba Ali Nana, Member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly representing Keffi West, have felicitated with the Muslim Ummah in the state on the occasion of Eid-El-Kabir.

The two spoke separately with journalists in Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State on Wednesday.

In his remarks, Dr. Chindo-Yamusa III urged his subjects to use the occasion to reflect on the virtues of Prophet Ibrahim and to continue embracing peace, unity, sacrifice, and compassion for humanity.

He described Eid-El-Kabir as a sacred period that reflects the virtues of obedience, love, and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim.

The monarch urged his people to prioritize agriculture now that the rains have set in, noting that agriculture is the bedrock of wealth. He also stressed that education should not be taken lightly, saying global advancement depends on how educated its citizens are.

He called on the people to participate fully in the electoral process, obtain their Permanent Voter Cards, and vote for candidates of their choice in the 2027 general elections.

“Let me specially appreciate you all for the show of support and for turning out en masse to vote for our own, who is the preferred candidate of the government,” he said.

On his part, Hon. Nana urged Muslims to continue upholding the values of tolerance, patience, and harmony, especially at a time when the nation needs collective prayers, unity, and support for growth and development.

“I also urge my Muslim brothers and sisters to celebrate the festival peacefully, responsibly, and in the spirit of love and harmony,” he said.

He prayed that Allah would accept their prayers, sacrifices, and acts of worship, and bless Nasarawa State and Nigeria with peace, unity, progress, and economic prosperity.

The lawmaker, who recently won the APC House of Assembly primaries for the Keffi West ticket, promised to double his efforts in serving his people compared to previous terms, including granting more full scholarships to constituents.

“While drilling boreholes is important, educating your people goes a long way in alleviating poverty and empowering them, because today’s society is run by the educated. This is why, apart from other essentials, I will double my efforts to ensure that education remains a priority if I am elected for a third term in the 2027 general elections,” he said.

The lawmaker also called on retired Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu, who recently left the APC over alleged irregularities in the just-concluded primaries in the state, to return to the party, noting that only a united family makes progress.

He further appealed to the APC governorship flag bearer, Sen. Ahmed Wadada, to move quickly to reconcile aggrieved members of the party in order to ensure a successful outing in the 2027 general elections.
