The Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang and Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Naanlong Daniel, have extended warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration, urging residents to embrace peace, unity, sacrifice, and harmonious coexistence.
In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Rt. Hon. Joyce Ramnap, Governor Mutfwang described Eid-el-Kabir as a significant period that embodies the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, love, and total submission to the will of Allah.
The governor said the celebration offers an opportunity for deep reflection on the values of peace, tolerance, unity, and harmonious coexistence, which he noted have continued to sustain Plateau State despite religious and ethnic differences.
He commended the Muslim faithful for their prayers, support, and contributions toward the peace and development of the state, while calling on residents to continue supporting government efforts aimed at promoting unity, security, and prosperity in Plateau State and Nigeria.
Governor Mutfwang also urged residents to celebrate responsibly and uphold the principles of mutual respect and peaceful coexistence during and after the festivities.
Similarly, Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Naanlong Daniel has described Eid-el-Kabir as a sacred season of spiritual reflection, unwavering faith, obedience, compassion, and submission to the will of almighty Allah, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim.
The Speaker encouraged Muslims to sustain virtues such as love, tolerance, generosity, humility, unity, and peaceful coexistence, stressing that such values are essential for strengthening harmony, stability, and national development.
He also called on the Muslim community to use the occasion to pray for enduring peace, security, prosperity, and greater progress for Plateau State and Nigeria.
Daniel further commended the contributions of the Muslim Ummah toward promoting moral values, community development, national unity, and peaceful coexistence, while encouraging continued support for initiatives that advance societal growth and collective wellbeing.
In the same statement, the Speaker also congratulated children on the 2026 Children’s Day celebration, describing them as the pride of society, precious treasures, and future leaders.
He called on parents, guardians, teachers, religious leaders, and governments at all levels to remain committed to protecting children’s rights, nurturing their talents, and creating opportunities for them to achieve their full potential.
Daniel, on behalf of the principal officers, members, management, and staff of the Plateau State House of Assembly, wished the Muslim Ummah and children peaceful, joyful, and memorable celebrations.
