Governor Caleb Mutfwang has secured the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections in Plateau State.
Mutfwang polled a total of 233,335 votes to defeat his challenger, Chief Yilchini Jan Bida, who garnered 3,070 votes in the party’s governorship primary election conducted on Thursday.
The results were announced by Chief Fidelis Mnyim, chairman of the APC Governorship and House of Assembly Primary Election Committee in Plateau State.
Announcing the outcome at the APC State Secretariat in Jos after collating results from the 17 local government areas of the state, Mnyim said a total of 239,405 votes were cast during the exercise.
He commended party members and electoral officials for the peaceful conduct of the primary election across the state.
