The Councilor representing Tafan/Nwok B Ward in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, Hon. Wash Toma Fom has constructed a ring bridge and a ring culvert costing over 800 thousand naira to alleviate the plight of his constituents.

Speaking at the commissioning of the two projects cited at Rashalang and Ratas linking Kugot community, Hon. Wash Fom who is also the Leader of Barkin Ladi Legislative Arm, a Church Elder and RCC Rahey Fan Choirmaster said he did not receive support from anyone, but had to save out of his salaries for the past one year to see that his constituents feel his impact as their representative.

“My constituents go through hardship in moving their farm produce due to absence of a bridge that links them to their farms, and I consider it a burden in my heart. That is why I embarked on this project so they can heave a sigh of relief”, Hon. Fom maintained.

“The Legislative Leader has done credibly well in representing his people; electing him is not a mistake, and he has proven that he can do better than this when given a higher responsibility”.

These were the words of Hon. Jock Lamba, the Executive Chairman of Barkin Ladi LGA who witnessed the commissioning ceremony.

“What our councilor has done is first of it’s kind in this community; we can at least feel government’s presence through him”, said the community leader, Mr. Toma Choji and the project engineer, Mr. Shut Pam who happens to be the son of the soil.

Other dignitaries who showered accolades on the young councilor were the Commissioner for Special Duties, Intergovernmental and NGOs, Hon. Musa Gyang, former council chairmen, Hon. Dickson Chollom and Hon. Emmanuel Lomang, among others.
