Fidelity Bank Plc has unveiled a series of training programmes and empowerment initiatives aimed at equipping women with practical, income-generating skills, in commemoration of International Women’s Day 2026.
The initiative, branded “Give Her Power,” is being executed through the bank’s women-focused platform, HerFidelity programme, and runs throughout March under the theme “Give to Gain.”
As part of the programme, the bank hosted a “Give to Gain” masterclass on March 18, 2026, focusing on communication and presentation skills. The session provided participants with practical insights into audience engagement, event moderation, confidence-building, and personal branding, particularly targeting women seeking to enhance their public speaking and professional visibility.
Another key event, a Gele Masterclass scheduled for March 30, will offer hands-on training in traditional headgear tying. According to the bank, the session is designed not only to promote cultural expression but also to equip women with a marketable skill that can serve as a source of income.
Participants will also benefit from professional headshot sessions to help improve their personal and professional profiles.
Speaking on the initiative, Ugochi Osinigwe, Divisional Head of Small and Medium-scale Enterprises Banking at Fidelity Bank, said the programme reflects the bank’s commitment to empowering women economically.
She noted that empowering women has a ripple effect, strengthening families, growing businesses, and uplifting communities. According to her, the bank aims to provide women with practical tools they can immediately apply, whether in public speaking, personal branding, or income generation.
Earlier in the month, the bank also reinforced its commitment by signing strategic Memoranda of Understanding with partner organisations during the launch of the “Give Her Power” initiative on March 5, 2026. The partnerships, anchored on the HerFidelity Apprenticeship Programme, are expected to expand access to vocational training, business support, and sustainable enterprise opportunities for women across various sectors.
In addition, the bank announced plans to distribute 1,000 sewing and grinding machines to support women-led microbusinesses nationwide.
Fidelity Bank Plc, which serves over 10 million customers through its digital channels, 255 business offices across Nigeria, and its United Kingdom subsidiary, continues to receive recognition for its innovation and support for small and medium-scale enterprises.
