Jos, Nigeria – The Investment Department of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) has donated ten brand-new HP desktop computers to COCIN Comprehensive College (CCC), Gindiri, in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Presenting the computers to the school on Monday at the principal’s office, the COCIN Director of Investment, Mr. Mamoud Zillang, said the donation was made possible through one of the department’s partners as part of their corporate social responsibility to host communities.
He explained that the choice of the school followed the discovery that students of the college faced serious challenges during a recent external computer-based examination, which resulted in the withholding of the examination results by the examining body due to inadequate computer facilities.
According to Mr. Zillang, the computers were donated by Wealth Bridge Asset Management to the COCIN Investment Department as part of its corporate social responsibility to positively impact communities associated with its partners, adding that such interventions align with the organisation’s policies.

He noted that the department had earlier visited several schools within and outside Gindiri to assess their challenges, and COCIN Comprehensive College emerged as the beneficiary due to the technological difficulties it encountered during external examinations.
Mr. Zillang urged the school management to make effective use of the computers for the benefit of the students and to imbibe a good maintenance culture to ensure the systems serve the school efficiently and for a long time.
In his remarks, the COCIN Director of Education, Rev. Dr. Thomas Abungyak, expressed gratitude to God and to COCIN for establishing the Investment Department, as well as to the department for identifying the school’s critical area of need.
“If you quantify these computers in monetary terms, you will understand how much they cost. They are brand new HP systems. We say thank you for this kind gesture,” he said.
Rev. Dr. Abungyak appealed to the school management to ensure that the computers are used strictly for the purpose for which they were donated and are not taken out of the school premises. He also advised that the old computers be retained for students to learn basic computer repairs during practical sessions, in line with the new education curriculum currently being implemented.

The Principal of the school, Mr. Zwalnan Ponfa Domchir, expressed immense joy over the donation, describing it as a pleasant surprise and an answered prayer.
“Just last week, the computer unit reported issues with the existing systems and requested that we purchase new ones. I was already considering how to meet the demand with the limited resources available to the institution. Today, I am overjoyed because this donation has come at the right time. Truly, God’s ways are different from those of men,” he said.
Mr. Silas Dasplang, Head of Accounts and Collections Unit of the COCIN Investment Department, accompanied the Director during the presentation of the computers.
