
The Special Envoy on Peace and Security to Plateau State Governor, Prof. Chris Kwaja has been conferred with the traditional title of Garkuwan Aima Ogomo Pengana by the Aima Ogomo Pengana His Royal Highness, Danladi Akinga Kasuwa.
Also, member representing Mikang/Quanpan/Shendam at the Federal House of Representative Hon. John Dafang was conferred with the title of Turakin Aima Ogomo pengana.
HRH. Danladi Akinga Kasuwa, confers the traditional titles on them after he headed a wedding of Miss Ummusalma and Aisha, daughters of Late Alh. Sa’idu Waziri Yelwa whose hands were given out in marriage by their Uncle Alh. Aliyu Sa’idu Waziri at his residence in Mista Ali, Bassa local government area of Plateau State.
Speaking at the event, Prof. Kwaja appreciated the traditional council and the people of Pengana for considering him worthy of the title, noting that the gesture will spur him to work hand in hand with the traditional council for peace and development.
In his word, “this for me is to make me redouble my effort and work with lovers of peace for the interest of peace and to make the society a better place for all.”
Chief John Dafang was represented at the occasion by the Plateau State Ambassador of “Renewed Hope Agenda” and former chairman of Quanpan local government council Hon. Ernest Da’a who also expressed heartfelt appreciation for the recognition.
The traditional ruler while conferring the traditional titles on them prayed for them to succeed as he charged his subjects on unity and peaceful coexistence.
Dignitories at the event which took place at Ogomo Aima Gurum’s palace included the President University of Jos Alumni, Shamaki Gad Peter, Hon. Yushau Muhammad Mazadu, Sarkin Fulani Wase, Alh. Sa’idu Me Kano, Prof. Armiyau, members of Pengana traditional council and other prominent dignitaries within Bassa and beyond.
