Zonal ECDA stands Akwashiki endorsement for Lafia/Obi House of Representatives

The Nasarawa South Zonal leadership of the Eggon Cultural and Development Association (ECDA) has reaffirmed its endorsement of Solomon Akwashiki as its candidate for the Lafia/Obi Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.

Mr Judah Attah, Nasarawa Southern Zonal Chairman of ECDA stated this at a joint press conference with the Women’s wing of ECDA and Eggon Youth Association in the zone.

Attah, stated that the endorsement was done in consultation with relevant stakeholders, including the EYA, ECDA women wing, and traditional rulers in the zone.

He emphasised that the decision was in line with section 4, subsection 1 of the ECDA constitution, which aims to promote unity and peaceful coexistence among the Eggon people.

“The reaffirmation comes after the national leadership of ECDA, led David Abuluya, addressed the press that the association did not endorse Akwashiki for the 2027 elections,” he said.

Attah described the national leadership’s actions as a violation of the ECDA constitution and an attempt to interfere with local matters.

Attah urged the national EXCO of ECDA to support the endorsement and called on all Eggon people to remain focused and calm towards delivering the candidate in the election when the time comes.

Akwashiki is currently a member of the House of Assembly representing Lafia Central at the House of Assembly and is seeking to represent Lafia/Obi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. (NAN).
