
Nasarawa United Football Club has secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over Shooting Stars in their Matchday 16 fixture of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The match played at Lafia Township Stadium on Monday saw the Solid Miners show great determination and skill to claim all three points of the game.
The match’s sole goal was scored by Moyi Hassan for the home team in 66 minutes to give them all the points.
This win marked a significant turnaround for the Nasarawa site, which had previously dropped from the league table.
With this victory, solid miners returned to the top of the NPFL table with 30 points, while Shooting Stars are seventh on the league table with 23 points.
In a post-match interview, Abubakar Arikya, Head Coach of Nasarawa Utd. Expressed joy at getting maximum points in the game to return top of the table.
He commended his boys for playing by the instructions and for winning the game to return the club to the top of the league table.
On his part, Nurudeen Aweroro, Head Coach of Shooting Stars, said it was not part of their plans to lose the game, but said there is nothing they can do but accept the result.
He added that they would go back to the drawing board and correct their mistakes to play better in their subsequent matches to improve their position in the league table. (NAN).
