The management of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Nasarawa state has urged 2025 Batch C Corps members deployed to the state for national service to leave lasting impact in their host communities.
Mrs Salamatu Muhammad, Coordinator of the scheme in the state made this known at a low key closing ceremony of the orientation course for the set held at the Magaji Dan Yamusa orientation camp in Keffi local government area of the state on Tuesday.
Addressing the corps members at the ceremony, Muhammad reminded the new set of Corps members that their one year of service is an opportunity to make meaningful contributions that transform lives.
She then encouraged them to honour the trust the nation has placed in them by using their skills, creativity, and training to support development efforts in their host communities.
“You must see yourselves as morally bound to make the best use of every opportunity to contribute positively to the development of your host communities.
“I also encourage you to continue with your Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Department (SAED) training during your service year,” she said.
The State Coordinator also appealed to Corps Employers across the state to play an active role in helping Corps members settle into their places of primary assignment.
She emphasized the need for employers to engage them productively, noting that proper utilization of their skills will not only improve workplace effectiveness but also reduce unnecessary movements that could expose them to risks.
The Nasarawa NYSC coordinator revealed that a total of 1,621 corps members successfully completed the Orientation Course and are now set to begin their journeys in various communities across the state.
“As you step into the next chapter of your service year, the call is clear: Be intentional, be impactful, and leave every community better than you met it,” she added. (NAN).
