Niger CAN Condemn Kidnapping of School Children, Worries about their Safety 

The Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Niger State, Most. Rev. Bulus Yohanna has strongly condemned the attacked and kidnapping of students at St. Mary’s Catholic Primary and Secondary schools in Papiri, Agwarra local government area of the State.

The incident occurred in between 1am and 3am of Friday, 21st November, 2025, where some pupils, students, teachers were kidnapped and a security personnel was badly shot, according to a statement Daniel Atori, Media Aide to the CAN Chairman.

The CAN Chairman expressed deep concerned about the safety of the Kidnapped children and their families, but assured the public that the Body of Christ is actively collaborating with Security Operatives, Community Leaders and Government Authorities to ensure their safe return.

The Chairman who is also the Bishop of Kontagora Diocese called on the public to remain calm, support security efforts, and continue to pray for the safe and quick return of all abductees.

He reaffirmed CAN commitment to the protection of Children and promise to provide further updates as verified information becomes available.

The CAN chairman ended with a prayer that the Lord grant quick release to those abducted and continue to protect his people from all dangers.
