The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has launched it’s 2025 Ember Months Campaign in Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area with a call on motorists to adhere strictly to safety measures to curb road crashes during and after the period.
Assistant Unit Corps Commander of FRSC, Nassarawa Eggon, Mr Agada Augustine made the call while addressing motorists and residents during the flag off of this year Ember Months Campaign in Nassarawa Eggon.
Speaking on the significance of the 2025 Ember road show, the Nasarawa Eggon FRSC unit Assistant Corps commander, said the sensitization programme is timely and necessary as it will help to instill a culture of safety among road users in the area, considering the nature of Nassarawa Eggon, Akwanga federal highway that had claimed many lives in the past.
Mr Agada cautioned road users against overloading shun excessive speeding, ensuring proper vehicle maintenance, Obey all traffic rules and take personal responsibility.

While urging the leadership of the National Union of Raod Transport Workers, NURTW to caution their members towards ensuring a hitch free period, the Unit Assistant Corps Commander of the FRSC explained that they are working in synergy with the Nigeria Police and other security agencies to ensure total compliance.
He called on residents of the area to take ownership of the road signs to reduce accidents on the highway.
On his part, State Treasurer of NURTW, Alhaji Lawal Ibrahim assured the FRSC unit command of their unwavering support to achieve the set goals.
Ember Months are the last 4 months of the year that include September, October, November and December. People often describe the period as period of heighten activities, anticipation and festival leading to Christmas and the new year.
Many Nigerians view the cultural and religious significance of the period with a mix of excitement apprehension, often engaging in special prayers, reflection and other practices due to beliefs, increased risks like accident and crime.
The 2025 Ember Month Campaign with the theme “Take responsibility for your safety, stop distractions” featured road show and distribution of safety card to motorists among others.
