The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers allegedly responsible for a series of housebreaking and robbery incidents within the Bauchi metropolis.
This was contained in a press statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil and made available to journalists in Bauchi.
Accoding to the statement, operatives attached to the C’ Division Police Headquarters, Bauchi, on 22nd October 2025, at about 2:00 p.m, received a report from one Na’ima Saleh, aged 30, of Nursing Quarters, Muda Lawal area, Bauchi.
“She reported that on the same date, at about 11:00 a.m., one Abdulmalik Ismail, aged 19, of Karofin Madaki area, Bauchi, criminally trespassed into her residence by scaling the fence, proceeded to the kitchen, picked up a knife, and attempted to rob her”.
“The victim raised an alarm, attracting neighbours who pursued and apprehended the suspect at the scene.Upon a search, a Redmi mobile phone was recovered from his possession. Further investigation revealed that the phone had earlier been robbed from its rightful owner, one Sadiyya Kabir, aged 30, of Bauchi, on 16th October 2024, when the same suspect allegedly invaded her home armed with a knife and carted away the said phone along with its purchase receipt and pack”.
“During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime and named one Abubakar Saleh, aged 20, of Doya area, Bauchi, as his accomplice.Abubakar Saleh was subsequently arrested and also confessed to his involvement in the robbery operation”.
“Items recovered from the suspects include one Jincheng motorcycle, two knives, and one Redmi mobile phone.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Bauchi, for discreet investigation and possible prosecution”.
“The arrest followed the Command’s continuous efforts to combat crime and ensure the safety of lives and property across the state” The statement read.
