The Bauchi State chapter of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has called on the state government to boost security in the state and curtail the activities of criminals which have been terrorizing citizens in the state in recent times.

The State PFN Chairman, Pastor Promise Yohanna made call during a Press conference held at the Living Faith Church, Yelwa, Bauchi, shortly after its regular meeting on Tuesday.

He noted that recently, activities of criminals have increased where innocent citizens in the state are being robbed of their belongings and in some cases, some are being inflicted with serious injuries while a few have lost their lives.

“There is a need to do more to have security personnel around to check the activities and flush out criminals although the government is trying its best but more can be done.”

“Bauchi remains the safest in the North considering the peaceful nature of the State. Residents are enjoying relative peace. The State is hosting an International Business Summit which will open it to foreign investors and investments,” he said

The PFN called on the State Government to increase the number of Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK) Teachers at the Primary and Secondary Schools in order to teach the Christian children morals and religious studies.

Promise Yohanna commended the Governor, Sen Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for ensuring an inclusive governance adding that for the first time, Christian community is enjoying real inclusion in every aspect of governance.

He noted that the government has supported in the rebuilding and even complete building of Auditorium across the state, a development he appreciated but lamented that the PFN has not enjoyed such benefit, he therefore called that the PFN too should enjoy.

The PFN then expressed its support to the summit assuring that members are ready to play supportive roles for the success of the event through spiritual support with prayers.

The PFN Chairman assured that the Fellowship will continue to support government in all its programmes and policies aimed at developing the State and ensuring peace and peaceful coexistence.
