Nasarawa State Chief Scribe, Magaji, 56 others inaugurates as SAN

and 56 other legal practitioners in Nigeria have been inaugurated as Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN)

The swearing ceremony was performed at the Supreme Court by the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun in Abuja.

Magaji was a former federal Prosecutor, commissioner of Justice, and Attorney General of Nasarawa State under the administration of Gov Abdullahi Sule.

The SAN title is the highest honour conferred on legal practitioners in Nigeria, reserved for lawyers who have attained exceptional distinction in the legal profession, either as advocates in the courtroom or as academics.

Some stakeholders who attended the swearing-in ceremony to celebrate the elevation of Dr Magaji, commended his exceptional contributions to his chosen profession.

Dr Danladi Jatau, Speaker of the Nasarawa State House Assembly commended Magaji for being recognised and honoured with the highest title in the legal profession, noting that his new attainment was for the benefit of the state and the country at large.

“We commend him for this wonderful achievement. This is for the benefit of Nasarawa State at large, the state is proud of him,” the speaker said.

Hajiya Aisha Bashir, Chief Judge of Nasarawa State, said Magaji’s elevation was a testament to hard work and dedication, noting that the privilege committee made no mistake in nominating him for the highest title.

Mr John Mamman, Nasarawa State Commissioner for Education, said the elevation of the SSG to the rank of SAN has added value to the state in the field of legal practice among the comity of states.

Dr Aliyu Bello, Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC), Nasarawa State, attributed the elevation of Magaji to the rank SAN to hard work and dedication, describing it as a great achievement for him as a person and for the state in general.

Also speaking, Dr Justina Kotso,
Special Adviser to Gov Sule, Office of SSG, described Magaji as a grassroots mobiliser who has paid his dues in the legal profession and earned him recognition for his hard work and dedication with the highest title of the profession.

Mrs Josephine Akawu, General Manager of Nasarawa Broadcasting Service NBS described Magaji’s elevation as a milestone and urged him to use his new position to foster peace, unity, and justice for the people of Nasarawa State (NAN)
