
Wives of Members of the 10th Plateau State House of Assembly has pledged their unflinching support for the leadership of the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Naanlong Daniel.
Statement by Philip Eplong, Press Secretary to the Speaker said the state Assembly members wives gave the assurance of support to the speaker during a courtesy visit to his office at the Assembly Complex in Jos.
The delegation was led by Mrs. Mercy Naanlong, wife of the Speaker to identify and congratulate him on his emergence as the head of the 10th Assembly.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Maria Owen, wife of the Member representing Qua’an-Pan North Constituency, commended the Speaker’s leadership style and expressed confidence in his ability to steer the Assembly toward impactful legislative work.
She further appealed for capacity-building initiatives to empower the wives of lawmakers through various skill acquisition programmes, noting that such opportunities would enable them to contribute meaningfully to societal development.

In his response, Rt. Hon. Naanlong Daniel expressed appreciation to the wives of Members for the visit and show of solidarity. He assured them of the Assembly’s willingness to explore avenues for their empowerment, stressing that women play a vital role in the success of any leadership.
“God has designed women uniquely. Let us not dwell on our weaknesses, but focus on our strengths, joining faith together to succeed,” the Speaker said.
He also solicited their continued prayers for the stability and progress of the 10th Assembly.
Other lawmakers present at the meeting, seized the opportunity to eulogize their wives, acknowledging their support, sacrifices, and encouragement as invaluable to their public service journey.
The visit climaxed with the presentation of gifts to the Speaker.
