Urges Members To Ensure Revised Constitution Aligns With The Community’s Vision, Mission, Values

The Yoruba Community in Bauchi State has Inaugurated its Constitution Review Committee with a charge on members of the committee to ensure the revised constitution aligned with the community’s vision, mission and values.
The President General of the Community in the state, Special Apostle Segun Awofadeji while performing the Inauguration on Thursday at the Yoruba Community House, Bauchi charged the committee to carry out its assignment with sincerity, diligence, and transparency.
According to him, the present executive of the community in the state is committed to reviewing its constitution to ensure it remains relevant, effective and aligned with her goals and objectives in orders to move the community forward, developmentally.
“Over the years,lack of credible and workable constitution in running the affairs of the community has put us in very serious but avoidable crisis, animosity, distrust and even division among ourselves in the community.
“And various committees have been set up to either review, update or amend the constitution to meet the yearnings and aspirations of the community, that is to align with the community’s vision, mission and values towards enhancing its socio -economic and political development, but all to no avail “.
“the task before this powerful committee is huge but surmountable. You are to help right the wrong,provide a credible, effective, standardize and enduring constitution, encompassing best practices. And looking at the calibre and pedigree of individual members of the committee, and with your unwavering commitment, patriotic zeal and experience,we are rest assured this is achievable”.
“We pray God Almighty to grant you the prerequisite wisdom, knowledge, experience, capacity, capability and the wherewithal to succeed in this onerous task and service to humanity and to our dear community in order to usher us into a new dawn of growth, progress, greatness and unity “he said
Speaking on behalf of the committee, the Chairman, Professor Lasisi Kazeem Eyitayo thanked the Community for finding them worthy to serve, assuring that they will not betray the confidence reposed in them.
“We will undertake our assignments diligently without fear or favour, and with fear of God, and insha’Allah we will review he existing constitution and identify areas that require amendment or revision “, he assured.
The nine -member committee is headed by Professor Lasisi Kazeem Eyitayo with Deacon Ishola Michael Adeyemi as the Secretary.
Other members are Alh. Qasim Almustapha, Pharmacist Ajibola Lawal, Alh. Moruf Lawal, Deacon Aremu Olusegun, Mr F.A Bakare, Mr Sunday Fashakin and Mrs Nafisat Imrana(Women Leader).
The committee is to complete its assignment within three months.
