The Bauchi State Special Marshal Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has sworn in newly elected executives who will steer the affairs of the arm of the FRSC for the next two years.
The Special Marshals, a voluntary wing of the FRSC, comprise individuals who dedicate their personal resources and time to promoting road safety nationwide, primarily through advocacy and public education.
Among those inaugurated is Godwin Obioha, who emerged as the new State Coordinator. Suleiman Idris will assist as Deputy State Coordinator, and Janet Tenebe as the State Secretary, with Kamaldeen Isah serving as her assistant.
Adamu Ya’u, was sworn in as the Financial Secretary, while
Vincent Eke will serve as the Treasurer.Others are Justice Bello Mohammed, Provost, Louise Igwe as Welfare Officer, and Ibrahim M Azare as Auditor while Ishola Michael Adeyemi will serve as the Public Enlightenment and Education Officer (PEO).
In his post inauguration remarks, the State Coordinator, Godwin Obioha, commended the members for the display of maturity before, during and after the elections stressing that, “It was a family affairs, no victor, no vanquish. We are one and we shall remain so.”
“The elections are over, we have a new leadership in place, I am soliciting for your support and cooperation, together, we can move forward positively.”
“The Special Marshal as a regimental organisation, will uphold discipline, integrity of the Corps. All members must brace up for the task ahead. We must put vigour and interest in service to humanity, ours is to save lives and ensure a safer roads in Bauchi State.”he said
While administering oaths of office and allegiance on the new EXCO members, the Zonal Coordinator, Barr Abdullahi Jumba reminded them that the oath must not be toyed with because it is a covenant to serve humanity.
He charged them to ensure that they did not betray the confidence respised in them by the Members, urging them to uphold the integrity of the Corps at all times.
Also speaking, the Sector Commander, CC Istifanus Ibrahim, commended the atmosphere of the election, expressing happiness with the rancour free conduct.
Represented at the exercise, the Sector Commander assured of the cooperation of the Sector Command stressing that the Special Marshal is playing a very supportive role in ensuring a safer road in the State.
