The Special Adviser on Budget to the Executive Governor of Plateau Hon. Joseph Afwanks had Wednesday 25th June 2025 held an Advisory Meeting with the Commissioner and management staff of Plateau State Ministry of Education to review, update and upgrade the budget Performance of the Ministry.
The meeting with the theme; Understanding the gaps, upscaling performance and outcomes was meant to identify the budgeting gaps of the ministry and how to close those gaps.
The Special Adviser maintained that the advisory engagement meeting was necessary in view of the fact that most items in the budget have been rollover since the year 2000 and have not aligned with the time is now administration philosophy therefore, to enhance credibility in the budgeting system, the budget items must align properly with the state strategic plans and especially the Time is Now Agenda.
He also decried the low Performances of many MDAs with regards to revenue generation, capital projects execution and reporting.
In her remark, the Commissioner of the Ministry of Education Hon. Kachollom Gang appreciated His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for the laudable initiatives taken to strengthen the budgeting process in state.
She opined that the advisory meeting was timely and robust which has further enlightened the ministry on how best to enhance budget Performance. She tasked all management and staff of the ministry to brace up for optimal performance.
